Basic CAD with TinkerCAD

Learn the basics of TinkerCAD, a free online program that will allow you to design objects for 3D printing.

Woodworking Design Cutter

​

Saturdays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Brand new wood cutter that can cut any new design that you can design yourself. Just upload your design and the drill on the machine will cut the surface or entirely through the your wood.

Woodworking Workshop

​

Every woodshop needs a Roubo Workbench. This 16-week workshop will take participants through step-by-step instructions for making their own workbench. The workshop includes an orientation to the STEAM shop tools and machinery. Participants do not need to commit to the full 16-weeks, anyone can drop-in at any time.

Machine Knitting Lessons

​

Wednesday nights 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm

At the STEAM Shop

Make hats, headbands, scarves, and possibly other fun items. Open to every one, no age restriction, no experience required. Knitting machines, needles, and yarn are provided. All you need is an interest to learn knitting.

Soldering Workshop

At the STEAM Shop 

1507 Main St, Alamosa, CO 81101

​

The workshop will cover basic electronics soldering (not plumbing or structural soldering) both through hole and surface mount using temperature regulated soldering irons and/or electronics rework stations. Participants will solder parts onto a printed circuit board that controls multiple lights blinking in sequence. You'll get to take home the assembled board. No children under 10 years old. Youth 12 and under must have a parent or guardian present throughout the workshop.

The workshop is free and open to anyone. Kits and all supplies necessary for the workshop will be provided.
